Is Your Golf Cart Summer Ready, 2021 ?

Jun. 15 2021 News By E3 Vehicles

Just like any major household accessory or automotive vehicle, your electric golf cart needs a summer maintenance plan to clean up and keep you safely cruising without a problem all summer long!

Summer Golf Cart Repair & Maintenance

The summer is the time of year you will likely get the most use of your street legal golf cart. Here are just a few reasons you should ensure you have your golf cart checked:

1) Keep yourself and passengers safe

Safety should always be your number one priority. You don’t want to put yourself in harm or be responsible for a friend or family member being injured because your golf cart is in an unsafe condition to be driving.

Although the risk of a major accident in a golf cart is surprisingly low (due to the maximum speed of 25mph) - unlike traditional cars, there can be a much greater chance of injury in case an accident does happen.

During your summer or annual golf cart maintenance you should always:

  • Check your brakes

  • Check all lights and turn signals

  • Check your batteries

  • Plan a short test drive on roads that are less traveled, feel and listen for sign of mechanical problems

2) Keep your electric golf cart from dying mid way through summer

Okay, what’s worse than dead batteries? Dead batteries after you have packed your street legal golf cart with beach or picnic gear!

We’ve seen this happen all too many times. A customer has left their golf cart under used for a few months - they plan a fun event and hop in their cart, only to turn the key and find out they are not moving anywhere.

Battery Issues are usually the number one problem when bringing your cart out for a long summer. During an inspection you should check the terminals, cables, water levels and if possible complete a battery run-down test.

Most local golf cart dealers will have a maintenance plan to get your golf cart in top condition.

3) Preventative Maintenance - Catching a problem before it becomes a major issue

This is one of the worst situations to hear about “Well, we could have fixed the issue if you brought your golf cart in sooner . . . but now the whole thing is going to have to be replaced.”

When a major problem arises you are now looking at:

  • A longer time to repair

  • An increase price for parts and labor

So, trust us - don’t be that guy or gal who puts a problem off, trust us!  You’ll save yourself time, money and a headache!
